The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification process is a voluntary, enriching, and rigorous professional growth experience that requires teachers to show evidence of the mastery and integration of both content and pedagogical knowledge. It is the highest certification in the education profession.
Join us to learn more about the new revised teacher-friendly process incorporating the latest research in best practices in teaching, a flexible initial completion timeline (one to three years), reduced and more efficient requirements, and a lower overall cost including a pay-as-you-go fee schedule.
There are now more than 125,914 National Board Certified Teachers nationwide including 227 teachers from The School District of Philadelphia. From its inception in 1987, NBPTS’ mission is to advance the quality of teaching and learning. Should you decide to pursue National Board Certification, your success will place you among teachers and counselors who are recognized as accomplished teachers and serve in leadership roles throughout the profession.
