PHILADELPHIA–Educators, parents, and students who use Android devices can now download the PFT Healthy Schools Tracker app on the Google Play store.
The Healthy Schools Tracker is a smartphone app that enables users to photograph and report health hazards and safety issues they encounter in Philly’s public schools. The information is transmitted via the app to the PFT Health & Welfare Fund, which will coordinate with the school district to ensure the issues are resolved.
The pilot of the app was released to PFT members in October 2018 for iPhones and other iOS devices, to give the union and app developers time to make improvements and make necessary upgrades in advance of a wider release. Since January, the app has generated reports from users at 54 schools. The launch of the Android version will allow even more users to share information with the PFT.
