"Again and again and again. Tonight, it’s Half Moon Bay enduring what should be unthinkable but is all too common in our nation.
"We mourn for the seven lives so cruelly cut short, for all those they leave behind, and for all impacted by this horrific mass shooting.
"And we mourn for our national paralysis that leaves us unwilling as a society to take definitive action to curb this deeply shameful ongoing crisis.
"To all impacted by the mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, our woefully inadequate thoughts are with you, as is our resolve to continue to push for sustainable, meaningful action to end the epidemic of gun violence."
