PHILADELPHIA (August 3, 2026) – Following is a statement from Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT Local 3) President Arthur G. Steinberg on the reassignment of the principal at Frankford High School, whose conduct was documented in this Philadelphia Inquirer report:
“Frankford High educators and staff are to be commended for bringing their concerns to the administration, and for persevering in the face of threats and bullying throughout the ordeal. Thanks to their bravery and persistence, Frankford will be a healthier, more positive place to learn and work for all.
"It is our hope that whoever is assigned to replace Dr. Calderone is able to reset the working environment for staff, so that Frankford is once again the warm, welcoming school community it was before he arrived."
