At this evening's School Board meeting, PFT President Jerry Jordan was honored to deliver testimony in support of renaming District headquarters "Dr. Constance E. Clayton Education Center."

PHILADELPHIA (August 3, 2026) – Following is a statement from Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT Local 3) President Arthur G. Steinberg on the reassignment of the principal at Frankford High School, whose conduct was documented in this Philadelphia Inquirer report:
We’re grateful for the steadfast leadership of Governor Shapiro, House Speaker McClinton, and Senate Democrats who are responsible for what is good and positive in this budget.
On June 10th, Superintendent Dr. Tony Watlington, Sr., announced that 340 classroom positions were being restored thanks to a budget agreement reached by Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Mayor Cherelle Parker. We applauded that announcement then, on behalf of our members and the affected school communities we serve.
