Press Release
March 12, 2023
In response to the Sunday March 12th Inquirer editorial regarding the upcoming Mayoral election, PFT shared the following on our Facebook (opens in a new tab), Twitter (opens in a new tab), and Instagram (opens in a new tab) pages:
The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT Local 3) on Friday slammed billionaire Jeffrey Yass for trying to buy the midterm elections. Specifically, mandatory campaign finance filings reveal that Yass’ money comprises nearly all of Bucks County Senator Frank Farry’s total fundraising – raising alarming questions about to whom Farry considers himself accountable.
The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers extends our deepest condolences to the family of Officer Shane Seiber, as well as to the FOP Lodge 5 and entire Philadelphia Police Department on this shocking loss.
More than three months after the AFT and NEA jointly urged Democratic governors to reject a massive effort to pour federal dollars into private and religious organizations at the expense of public school students, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers again calls on Governor Shapiro to definitively opt out of the Trump Administration's scheme.
